Dear Friend,
I will never forget when a dear friend from college introduced me to Shamrock Shakes every March. Such a fun tradition and so yummy! So of course me being on a mission to enjoy fun treats in a healthier way I went about trying a healthier take on the famous shamrock shake. This recipe is really simple, with great nutrition, and you can definitely alter it to make it as light or creamy as you like. I didn't have the ingredients at the time but you could definitely top it with your favorite whipped cream, including Paleo whipped cream made by whipping a can of refrigerated full fat coconut milk. HEALTHY SHAMROCK SHAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
1 scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder
1 cup of Frozen Spinach
1 cup of Coconut Milk or Milk of Choice
1/2 a Frozen or Regular Banana
1/2 cup of Ice
1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil (I use DoTerra's), you could also use peppermint extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
Blend all ingredients in a blender or Vitamix. Top with your favorite whipped cream and a cherry! Enjoy!
NOTES:
* Using full fat canned coconut milk would make the creamiest shake, where almond milk or regular milk a lighter shake.
* Frozen banana is wonderful and will give it more of an ice cream like consistently, where a regular banana will be more like a smoothie.
